Insurance and pensions company Eagle Star is reviewing its &£10m direct marketing account, currently held by EHS Brann.
The company has shortlisted EHS Brann and three undisclosed agencies. Pitches will take place at the end of the month. The review is being handled by the AAR.
The move follows the appointment of Hein Kuiper as head of marketing in November.
Eagle Star has traditionally focused on direct mail, but has used print advertising and direct-response TV in the past. The company now wants to spend an undisclosed portion of its direct marketing budget on advertising, as part of a strategic review.
Past marketing has focused mainly on the company’s home and car insurance, although the company also offers boat and travel insurance, as well as pensions.
The company has not decided which media will be used for its advertising, but head of marketing development Phil Ost says advertising will represent a small part of the &£10m under review.
Brann won the Eagle Star work in 1994. It merged with EHS Realtime last year. It was handed the business-to-business direct marketing for Eagle Star in May last year, following a three-way pitch.
Eagle Star is a division of the Zurich Financial Services Group.
