Free booze is a thing of the past

After last week’s pointless freebie from McCann-Erickson (thanks for the Hoover by the way), the Diary was delighted to receive another one this week from Confex.

Confex, for those of you who have lives, is an exhibition about exhibitions. Whoever pulled that out of the bag deserves a medal.

Confex got the Diary very excited by sending in four bottles of vodka. This really raised a smile, as the Christmas booze is rapidly running out.

Imagine the Diary’s horror, then, when the bottles turned out to be empty. Apparently you have to go to the exhibition to get them filled up.

Thanks guys, but the idea of wandering around an exhibition, picking up carrier bags full of balloons and paper hats and talking to exhibition companies for a few shots of vodka isn’t the Diary’s idea of a good time.
