Solanki extends his magic touch

The Diary is happy to welcome a marketing legend to its page this week. Step forward Mr Vijay Solanki – a man who is rapidly becoming the marketing equivalent of Diary hero Del Boy Trotter.

Solanki’s latest career move is to start-up company Shazam Entertainment, where he has become marketing director. The company provides a service that allows people to play music down a mobile phone to a computer, which will recognise the track and artist and send the information to the customer.

How did society cope without it? The phrase “This time next year we’ll be millionaires” has never seemed more apt.

Apparently, Solanki will still be involved in his other “luvvly jubbly” venture, KI Consulting – and he’ll be snapping up any other “nice little earners” that come along, no doubt.

By the way Vijay, your PR blurb says you were marketing director of Capital Radio. The Diary doesn’t recall you getting past marketing manager.
