O&M to pick up Ski after sale to Nestlé

As Marketing Week went to press the proposed sale had yet to be confirmed. However, Nestlé is understood to have agreed to hand the business to O&M, one of its roster agencies, once the deal is finalised.

Present incumbent on the brands, Partners BDDH, is not on the Nestlé roster. The acquisition of the brands will make Nestlé the second-largest company in the dairy dessert market behind Müller.

The decision comes a week after John Ward, Eden Vale’s commercial director, announced plans to quit the company once the sale went through, and consider options within its parent company Northern Foods (MW February 28).

According to AC Nielsen, Eden Vale spent £384,000 advertising Ski last year.

At the end of last year Nestlé consolidated its $2bn (£1.4bn) worldwide roster into five global category networks. O&M was selected for the chilled dairy business, McCann-Erickson was put in charge of coffee, Lowe was given sugar confectionery and J Walter Thompson was handed chocolate brands.
