Diners Club UK has appointed Tullo Marshall Warren (TMW) to handle the direct marketing for the relaunch of its credit card brand.
TMW beat EHS Brann and WWAV Rapp Collins for the work. Insiders claim the win could lead to TMW picking up European direct marketing work for Diners Club. The agency worked with the brand four years ago.
Fashion entrepreneur Tonino Perna bought the European Diners Club franchise from Citibank last year for an undisclosed price.
Diners Club marketing director Jonathan Lavercombe oversaw the pitch.
TMW will be responsible for helping Diners Club to retain customers and acquire new ones in an increasingly competitive credit-card market.
The latest figures from the company show there are 8 million Diners Club cardholders in 200 countries. The card is accepted in 5 million establishments worldwide.
In order to create brand loyalty the company offers free gifts to customers who use the card in conjunction with appointed outlets such as hotel chains.
