Nestlé UK’s director of marketing services Philip Buckman is understood to be leaving the company as part of a restructure of the company’s media operation.

Nestlé UK media manager Stuart Cox and Nestlé Rowntree advertising and media manager David Jarvis – who report to Buckman – are believed to be unaffected by the restructure.

Nestlé is restructuring its corporate functions, which include media, following its announcement in January that it is selling its ambient food business to concentrate on beverages, confectionery, chilled dairy, milks and nutritional products.

Nestlé is understood to be aiming for a more centralised media operation, pooling media budgets so that it can negotiate better terms with media owners. It is not clear how this will affect agency arrangements. MindShare handles the &£30m confectionery business and Universal McCann the &£17m beverages and &£3.2m food business.

Nestlé is in the process of consulting staff about changes to the structure.
