Remember the scene in Trainspotting where the Edinburgh Festival visitors get beaten and robbed? So does the Diary, which will consequently be spending August somewhere south of the border. St Lucia, perhaps. However, if there are any braver souls out there, the Diary can offer you the opportunity to be relieved of your cash even before you get to Berwick.
In a rather illiterate press release, a group of comedians calling themselves Fat Bloke Productions is offering sponsors the chance to get their name on 750,000 “pieces of print” to tie in with their shows at the festival. The festival apparently attracts 1 million visitors. Most of whom are overweight Americans, no doubt.
The lucky buyer could also get a branded SMS campaign, 25 promotions assistants and a host of other exciting things for their money. No joke. Let’s just hope there are some at the show.
