Health fears for Vauxhall exaggerated

Vauxhall’s recent announcement that it was seeking to appoint an additional advertising agency was going to attract the attention of the specialist media.

Your article “Less of the cavalier attitude” (MW March 28) was, in general, balanced and well-informed, but how it justified a front cover that depicted Vauxhall as an ailing patient with a temperature high enough to kill it is difficult to understand. If we are deemed to be sick, I dread to think what the prognosis might be of some of our nearest rivals.

Although not perceived positively by everyone, Vauxhall is still the best seller of UK-produced cars and has the widest product range of any car manufacturer. The appointment of a second agency and a product programme that will see the launch of a new car every six months for the next five years will only help to strengthen our position.
