Two foxes and a used-car salesman

As regular readers know, we love a good lookalike at the Diary. And this one’s a cracker.

Meet Colin Ward, director of Live Promotions Events. His company has just been appointed by EMAP Automotive to “promote and manager” (sic) the Land Rover Owners International Show. An event we will all be rushing from. Sorry, to.

But the Diary is more interested in the fact that Wardy has a double lookalike, combining the sophistication of Des Lynham with the moustache of Swiss Tony (a regular in this section).

Even the pose harks back to Des “silver fox” Lynham’s days as a BBC lothario. Look at the relaxed body language. The strategically placed hand-on-cheek. The come-to-bed eyes.

“You know, running a major Land Rover show is very much like making love to a beautiful woman”
