The Diary’s decreasingly occasional lookalike feature seems to be gaining momentum – people are now sending in nominations.
Communications Team publishing director Mike Lamond has – rather cruelly – put forward his colleague, advertising sales director Bruce Settle, as a Homer Simpson lookalike.
“Perhaps it’s the sartorial elegance or the creative use of sparse hair,” proffers Lamond, who seems to be looking for a way to make Settle walk out without having to sack him.
Well, the Diary is not really convinced about the extent to which Settle resembles Homer, but, as Homer is a modern-day anti-hero and a role model for the Diary in particular, Marketing Week is happy to print this special lookalike illustration, showing his transition into the yellow layabout. Doh.
