Blade has the edge in Subbuteo Cup

What a night for heroes. Teams from across the marketing industry clashed like rutting stags last week at the Marketing Week-sponsored Subbuteo World Cup.

The event was an intoxicating mix of beer, women and football, and what started as a bit of a laugh soon turned into a hard-fought competition, with Bates facing Blade in the final.

You could have cut the tension with a knife, and the match eventually went to extra time and penalties; but after a disastrous miss from Bates, Blade emerged victorious. Four Premiership tickets went to the winners.

The event, organised by the Leaflet Company, raised money for Great Ormond Street Hospital. And the raffle also raised a laugh when a member of the Homebase team won a power drill donated by… B&Q. See you same time next year?
