Chancerealm hires lingerie brand chief

Retail group Chancerealm has appointed Karen Renouf head of marketing to oversee its four brands.

Renouf joins the company from international airport retailer Alpha Retail, where she was strategic marketing manager for four years. She has also held a series of positions at motor services company Lex.

Renouf will oversee marketing for Chancerealm’s lingerie chains La Senza and Contessa as well as stationery businesses Partners and Ryman. She replaces Chancerealm’s former group marketing controller Sue Dover, who left the company in March to become marketing director at the Body Shop.

Renouf will report to Chancerealm group director Malcolm Cook. She says it is too early to decide whether to appoint an advertising agency. The company does not advertise at present.

Earlier this year Chancerealm began expanding into Europe, with the launch of La Senza franchises on the Continent. The group reached agreements in Greece, Germany and Spain.

Expansion is also planned for the company’s stationery chains, which are being rolled out in Post Offices.
