Colin by name, Des by nature

The Diary’s lookalike spot seems to be going from strength to strength. Updates about how being a lookey-likey has affected people’s lives are now flooding in.

Colin Ward was in these pages a few weeks ago as a lookalike for Des “Silver Fox” Lynam (MW April 18).

Colin, who is director of Live Promotions, has contacted the Diary to reveal that his local garden centre enlisted his help to promote Miracle Gro – a product endorsed by Mr Lynam – after customers thought he was the real Des. The fact that he kept standing in front of the ad giving people football scores probably helped.

So here, once again, are Colin and Des, this time bordered with flowers. Who knows what other adventures Colin will have? Today Miracle Gro, tomorrow the World Cup…
