Kraft marketing chief moves to services role

Kraft Foods away from home marketing director Stephanie Lea has become director of customer services.

In her previous role, Lea was responsible for marketing the away from home section of Kraft’s coffee brands. These include Carte Noire, Kenco and Maxwell House. A Kraft spokesman says the company has yet to decide whether to replace Lea. In the meantime, her role will be covered by marketing manager Jane Furze on the Carte Noire range.

Kraft Foods claims it is the world’s second biggest food company, with revenue of more than $33.8bn (£23.2bn). In June 2001, it completed an initial public offer-ing (IPO) on the New York Stock Exchange and sold 280 million shares. However, former owner Philip Morris Companies still retains an 83 per cent holding.

Kraft also makes Philadelphia and Dairylea cheeses, as well as Terry’s Chocolate Orange.

In March, Kraft redesigned its Kenco Rappor coffee range and backed the new look with a £1.2m television and cinema campaign created by J Walter Thompson. At the same time, Kraft launched Kenco Really Dark, an extra strong instant aimed at men.
