As the nation is gripped by football er, Golden Jubilee fever, the staff at the Evening Standard kicked off early on Friday with a 1952-themed breakfast.
The breakfast was the first stage of a day of Jubilee celebrations, which culminated in an afternoon street party. And the Diary’s roving reporter was there to follow the action.
As can be seen by the accompanying picture, there was plenty of fun and frolics to be had by all concerned.
Brand manager Michael “top me up” Bell – the one in the middle – was already in line for the most likely to be drunk and disorderly before 11.30am. And the Go-Go girls – Carley Ayers, Gemma Ryder and Vanessa Gartell – won the top prize for most patriotic performance of God Save The Queen.
