Lloyds TSB appoints business marketing boss

Lloyds TSB has promoted Guy Herrington to business banking sales and marketing director.

Herrington, who has been with the company for more than 20 years, was previously area director of business banking for Lloyds TSB Surrey and North Sussex. He replaces Charles O’Neill, who has been appointed country manager for Panama in the company’s international banking division.

Herrington will focus on developing the bank’s small and medium enterprises strategy. He will report to managing director of business banking David Singleton.

The appointments follow six months of marketing changes within the company. Group executive director Eric Daniels announced a restructure of the marketing department in January, which saw the company’s centralised marketing unit disbanded. Under the new structure, marketers now report to individual product divisions.

The restructure forced the resignation of director of group customer management Ford Ennals (MW January 31)and marketing communications manager Adam Tuson.

Two other senior marketers, Richard Everett and Mike Bulpitt, have since retired. Their responsibilities have been assumed by Steve Gibbons, who has become head of group marketing.

Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/ Y&R was appointed to Lloyds TSB’s &£18m account in January, just prior to the restructure (MW January 17).
