Student travel agency specialist STA Travel is launching a product called Global Clubber next week.
The 16-page brochure targets student fans of dance music. It will offer flight and accommodation packages to several cities known for their nightlife, and includes information on the worldwide clubbing scene.
The destinations offered include Amsterdam, Ayia Napa, Berlin, Madrid, Melbourne, San Francisco and Sydney. Twoor three-night stays are available for closer destinations while long-haul trips offer packages of one week or longer.
Customers booking through the brochure will be eligible for a Global Clubber Card, which offers discounts or free entry to participating nightclubs.
The product was put together by marketing manager Dawn Howell, in response to demand from the company’s target market – 18- to 25-year-old students. Global Clubber will have a print run of 120,000 and will be distributed through STA’s 52 UK outlets. The brochure will also be given away with the August issue of Ministry of Sound magazine and promoted on STA’s website.
STA has recently opened three new branches – in Cardiff, Leeds and Liverpool – and plans another 15 this year. Some of the sites are shop conversions from rival travel agency Usit Campus, which collapsed in January. STA bought a majority share in holding company Usit World and took over the majority of the company’s assets.
STA also bought US student travel agency chain Council Travel in May.
