Five to fight for £10m HBOS brief
Halifax Bank of Scotland’s (HBOS) new asset management business, Insight Investment Management, is looking for an agency to handle its claimed &£10m account.
Insight marketing director David Norman has shortlisted five agencies. A decision will be made by the end of the month.
He says: “Our soft launch is already under way but we want to appoint an agency quite quickly to handle the main launch, which will be in the fourth quarter of this year.”
Insight was created by the merger of the three asset management divisions of HBOS – Clerical Medical Investment Management, Equitable Life and Halifax Fund Management. They are being rebranded under the Insight name and the marketing teams have been merged.
Insight’s 11-strong marketing team will be rapidly expanded in the coming months. Norman estimates the team will eventually grow to 70.
Brand consultancy The Partners created the logo and brand identity for Insight. Media is being handled by BBJ Media, which won the &£22m HBOS group account at the end of last year (MW December 13, 2001).
Norman has been working on the Insight launch for almost a year. He was handed the chief marketing role last autumn, after HBOS said it was launching a new business (MW October 11, 2001). Norman was formerly retail marketing director of investment company Friends Ivory & Sime.
