Boots strategic marketing chief Zoë Morgan is leaving to pursue a career in senior management elsewhere.

Boots strategic marketing chief Zoë Morgan is leaving to pursue a career in senior management elsewhere.

Morgan, who oversees marketing at Boots the Chemist, Wellbeing Services and Boots Opticians, reports to group marketing director Barry Clare. Morgan leaves in September, but does not have a new role lined up.

She says: “I love working for Boots, but it’s time for something different.”

Morgan was promoted to director of strategic marketing for Boots UK & Ireland in January (MW January 17), from her previous role as marketing director of Boots the Chemist.

Her responsibilities will be split among the existing marketing team, with strategic marketing decisions given to Clare. Head of consumer marketing Amanda Jenkins will be responsible for direct marketing, the Advantage Card and Boots Health & Beauty magazine. She will report to director of trading David Kneale, while director of communications Jayne Mayled will report to Clare.

Morgan became marketing director of Boots the Chemist in 2000, moving from the same role at Halfords. She oversaw the relaunch of the Advantage Card (MW March 28) and Boots’ latest campaign, featuring a character called Claire. Morgan says it has achieved higher awareness levels than any Boots campaign since 1994.
