Zurich Financial Services seeks group marketing director

Zurich Financial Services is searching for a UK group marketing director following the promotion of David Sims to managing director of the group’s rebranded Zurich International Solutions division.

In his former role, Sims oversaw marketing for Zurich Financial Services’ UK brands, including Zurich Life, Eagle Star Life and Allied Dunbar Assurance. Wallace Dobbin, director of strategic marketing and communications, will temporarily oversee marketing for these brands.

Zurich International Solutions combines Eagle Star International Life and Zurich Life International, which both sell financial products offshore. Internationally, the Eagle Star brand has been scrapped in an effort to increase awareness of the Zurich brand.

A spokeswoman for Zurich says local brands will not be affected by the rebranding. She says: “The rebranding only affects Zurich’s international products. The Eagle Star name will continue to operate in the UK.”

Details of a rebranding campaign for the new division have not been finalised. Creative work for

Zurich is handled by Joshua.

The appointment of Sims as managing director of the new division coincides with the retirement of Antoine Meyer, former chief executive officer of Zurich’s international business.

Sims’ former roles include managing director of Eagle Star Life and board directorships at Sterling Assurance, Zurich Life and Zurich IFA Group.
