It’s my chart and I want to be top

Self-promotion isn’t such a bad thing, is it? We’re even told at school: “If you don’t sell yourself, you won’t get anywhere in life”. So, as is the Diary’s wont, here’s a story of self-promotion that may have gone a little too far…

Surfing the Internet, looking for a copy of How to Write Scandal and Insult People, the Diary was reaching the end of its tether (the editor generally pays out only enough rope to reach the water cooler).

Desparately scanning the Virgin Books website, the Diary came across a list of the site’s bestsellers. There, sitting pretty at the top, was a book called Losing my Virginity, written by one Sir Richard Branson. Interesting. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that the book is being sold signed by the author?
