You can’t sell yourselves

Are you single? Looking for a good time, but fed up with the expense of Soho? Then look no further than your office. Research carried out by UK recruiter Fish4jobs claims that one in four long-term relationships start at work.

The research also found that, with UK workers spending less time on holiday and more time at work, you are just as likely to meet your partner at work (25 per cent) as through friends (27 per cent) or in a bar or club (21.5 per cent).

And – if you thought the Diary occasionally misses the mark in terms of marketing-related stories – the marketing industry has the third-highest proportion of single workers, closely behind arts and entertainment and architecture. More surprising was that the IT industry was only sixth – computer-dating must be taking off.
