Grey Worldwide to handle £3m launch of mail-order catalogue

Mail-order company Otto Versand is to launch a clothing catalogue called Pure By Together this year. The company, which also owns the Freemans and Grattan catalogues, has appointed Grey Worldwide to handle the &£3m global launch.

The 32-page Pure by Together catalogue will be distributed in 16 countries, including Germany, the UK and the US from September. Pure By Together is a sub-brand of the Together clothing range and targets women over 35 years old, “who appreciate the tailored look”.

Grey pitched against Code, a roster agency for Otto Versand’s catalogue business.

The agency will be responsible for the design and delivery of the catalogue.

Steve Richards, managing director for Grey Worldwide London says: “We have used a number of style insights that lead to a look and feel for Pure By Together, which elevates the offer off the page. It takes the catalogue from being simply a range to a concept-driven look that meets a real market need.”

Otto Versand, the world’s largest mail-order company, publishes more than 600 catalogues a year through 90 subsidiaries in 20 countries. Based in Hamburg Germany, Otto Versand has grown through acquisitions and in 1999 bought the Freemans catalogue business from Sears. It has also expanded outside mail-order, branching into areas such as travel and computer sales.
