The power of love… at a stretch

The Diary, as you may know already, is very keen on foreign travel. It is also extremely interested in the different forms of advertising and marketing from around the world.

So here’s an odd take on a specialist product that you can be sure would not gel too well with the ASA, but could go down well with Chris Tarrant on Tarrant on TV.

Created by an unnamed Brazilian agency, this ad for a K-Y jelly equivalent – or sexual lubricant for the uninitiate – kicked up quite a storm when it was rolled out in not normally prudish France.

At first you might think that there is nothing wrong with this beautiful scene, featuring what is obviously an attractive woman watching a romantic sunset.

But look closely. No, closer than that. Can you see something wrong? Ah. Now can you see why the ad received complaints?
