Top marketer quits Golden Wonder post

Paul Boothman, the marketing director of Golden Wonder, is leaving the company after just one year in his job, following the company’s buyout by The Snack Factory.

Boothman has been with the company for 16 years. He was one of the original members of the management buyout team that bought the company from owners Dalgety for &£68m in 1995.

Last year, Boothman was handed the marketing director position, following the departure of Nigel Parrott, who is now the marketing director of New Covent Garden Soup Company.

Boothman says he is leaving to take a “well-earned break”. He claimed that since the buyout in 1995 profits had quadrupled.

Category marketing director Kirsty Taylor, who has been with the company for three years, will take on marketing responsibilities under the new job title of brand and category marketing director. David Revell, who is the grocery commercial director, will become commercial director, taking over from Paul Monk who has become chief executive.
