Madame Tussauds marketing chief Paul Moreton has been cooking up a storm of publicity for the waxworks.

Once seen as the home of fusty models of ancient monarchs, Madame Tussauds now has its finger firmly on the popular pulse with interactive experiences featuring the likes of Becks and Kylie. It even has Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) lined up for Hallowe’en.

Moreton is very keen on stressing that Madame T’s is trying to portray the transitory nature of fame and give visitors the experience of what it’s like to be a celebrity, such as the “Big Brother and Pop Idol winners”. However, when asked if the attraction planned a waxwork of Big Brother finalist Jade he said, rather quietly: “Not at the moment”. Perhaps they’ve cut his wax budget…
