Hush Puppies picks Warner Brothers marketer as chief

Footwear company Hush Puppies has appointed former Warner Brothers marketer Julie Bradley as UK head of marketing, following the departure of Rachel Miranda.

Bradley held the position of marketing manager at Warner Brothers Studio Stores for two years, but has spent much of her career working for footwear brands, including Barker.

Bradley will take charge of advertising, marketing and communications for Hush Puppies. She reports to UK managing director David Rist. The company’s former head of marketing Miranda left in June to join fashion company Timberland (MW June 6).

Hush Puppies UK creative and media accounts are handled by Leicester-based agency Checklands Kindleyside, although this arrangement is thought to be under review. Hush Puppies’ advertising is often created by its US agency, Lori Art & Advertising, and adapted for local markets.

Globally, Hush Puppies recently strengthened its marketing team with the appointment of Barbara Scott as chief marketing officer, based in the US. The company reportedly wants to expand licensing opportunities and improve relationships with retailers.

Bradley’s replacement at Warner Brothers Studio Stores is yet to be announced. The new marketing manager will report to commercial director Paul Drake.
