Bartle Bogle Hegarty (BBH) has created a television ad for Gordon’s Edge as part of a &£3.5m launch campaign for the gin-based premium packaged spirit (PPS). The ad, which was shot in Barcelona, Spain, and breaks on September 7, follows a ‘thirtysomething’ man as he walks through a party in a stylish modern house, carrying two bottles of Gordon’s Edge. Ashe moves through the house and garden, the ‘edge’ of the new drink slices through a variety of objects – a beaded curtain, reeds in the garden pond, a woman’s dress strap and finally a lighting cable, throwing the party into darkness. Poster and taxi ads will support the TV campaign in London, which will parody fashion industry posters by showing ads that have been ‘cut’ by Gordon’s Edge. Media is being bought by Carat.
