Revlon has drafted in former Clairol marketing director for the UK and Ireland Simon Worraker to be its European marketing director. He will report to the company’s European president, Giorgio Laurenti.
Worraker is the second ex-Clairol marketer to join the cosmetics company recently, following the appointment of Chris Elshaw as the company’s general manager for the UK and Ireland (MW July 4).
Elshaw was formerly Clairol general manager under Bristol-Myers Squibb, which sold Clairol to Procter & Gamble (P&G) for &£3.4bn late last year. He replaced Revlon’s UK managing director Kerry McCarter, who left without a job to go to earlier this year (MW May 2).
Clairol lost a raft of top executives following the P&G deal, including its European marketing director Tim Perman. Campbell Grocery Products has appointed Perman as its marketing director (MW August 22).
Revlon recently appointed Wieden & Kennedy to handle the &£2m advertising for its Ultima II brand (MW May 9). MediaEdge:CIA handles Revlon’s media planning and buying.
