NatMags’ ad sales shuffle sees Lucas go

The National Magazine Company (NatMags) has made Tim Lucas, its director of business development and ad marketing, redundant following a restructuring of its advertising sales team.

Lucas’s job will no longer exist following the shake-up and he is leaving the company to set up his own consultancy service.

Lucas, who reported to managing director Duncan Edwards, was responsible for international, regional and classified sales. He took the position last year, when Justine Southall took over the publishing reins of Company, She and Zest.

Under the new structure, the international sales division will report to the luxury publishing group, headed by Tess Macleod-Smith, the division’s publishing director. The luxury division includes Harpers & Queen and Esquire titles. The international sales director, Jamie Wilson, will report to Macleod-Smith.

A spokeswoman for the company says that the central sales team has not been disbanded and each of the ad directors for the five NatMags’ divisions will continue as before.
