VW group marketers switch roles

Audi head of marketing Rawdon Glover, who has overseen Audi’s design-led advertising and marketing drive, is leaving the car brand to take up a position at sister company Seat.

Glover, who joined the Volkswagen subsidiary in 1999 from National Lottery operator Camelot, where he was a brand manager for scratchcards, is to become head of operations at Seat.

He will be replaced at Audi by former Seat head of marketing and current head of operations Gary Savage, who swaps places with Glover.

Savage was moved to the operations role last April, when Mark McKenna was handed the top marketing post (MW April 12, 2001).

Savage will take control of Audi’s &£24.2m advertising budget. Bartle Bogle Hegarty is Audi’s ad agency, and media is handled by MediaCom. Savage will report to Audi UK director Kevin Rose. Rose says Savage, who has wide experience in product, sales, planning and distribution, “has used his enthusiasm to make a great impact on the accent of the Seat brand in the UK over the past ten years”.

Prior to joining Seat in 1998, Savage held various marketing positions at Mazda UK.
