Outdoor campaign from Gun Control Network

Lobby group the Gun Control Network (GCN) is launching an outdoor campaign in London, warning the public of the danger of imitation weapons. The ads feature images which show how difficult it is to distinguish between real and imitation weapons, and how easy it is to convert an imitation handgun into a working firearm. The posters have been created by Rocket Science, with media planning and buying through Posterscope. They will appear at five Maiden Outdoor sites this week. GCN was set up as a non-profit organisation in July 1996, in the wake of the Dunblane massacre. The organisation is campaigning for the closure of a loophole in the Firearms Amendment Act 1997, which allows major gun manufacturers to make exact replicas under licence. GCN is calling for a ban on the sale, import and manufacture of these imitations.
