LE scraps retail marketing director role in shake-up

London Electricity (LE) Group has replaced the marketing director position for its retail brands with four separate marketers, who will report to managing director for retail and marketing Peter Hofman.

The move follows the utility company’s recent restructure, which resulted in the departure of group retail marketing director Jon Kinsey (MW September 26). The retail marketing director for the group, Gary Tubb, followed Kinsey and is now sales and marketing director at retailer Courts (MW November 7).

Former head of residential markets at Seeboard, Travers Clarke-Walker, will be responsible for the group’s marketing and advertising. Seeboard head of business markets Steve Hargreaves will be in charge of customer markets. LE general manager for retail business development Christine D’Cruz will oversee commercial services and customer care director Simon Carter will be responsible for sales.

A spokesman for the group says: “The department has been restructured to bring together LE’s customer and marketing operations. The details of all the marketing roles and the actual titles are still being finalised.”

The group includes LE, SWEB, Virgin Energy and the recently acquired Seeboard brands.

Last month, energy regulator Ofgem imposed a fine of £2m on the group after a four-month investigation into direct sales methods used to win new customers.
