Is the truth so hard to swallow?

In your article “Snova takes on Christmas market with chocolate liqueur” (MW December 5), you suggested that Fluid and Snova were going to call their new vodka Svensk.

There is no link whatsoever between Fluid, Snova and the Svensk vodka brand, which was launched in the UK more than three years ago by a Swedish company. I’m sure the confusion arose because of a discussion with Marketing Week about brand registration in the UK, as the Svensk brand has indeed been challenged in the UK by the owners of the Svenska brand, Glen Catrine in Scotland.

Snova International and Fluid Brands will launch the V Vodka brand in the UK in early 2003 as planned.
