Allied Domecq Spirits & Wine UK has appointed former Campbell Grocery Products chief Alison Levett as its new managing director.

Levett, who left her position as managing director at Campbell’s in July to “pursue other interests” (MW July 4, 2002), replaces Chris Heath, who was recently appointed managing director of Allied Domecq’s Spanish business.

She was previously the marketing director at Campbell’s and Colmans of Norwich and has worked at Reckitt Benckiser and Mars. Levett left Colmans to move to Campbell’s in June 1995.

The Allied Domecq portfolio in the UK includes Champagne brand Mumm, Malibu, Cockburn Ports, the Tia Maria range and Teachers Highland Cream Scotch Whisky.

The company launched Tia Lusso, a brand extension to Tia Maria, across Europe in May last year, backed by a &£31m advertising campaign.
