Sugar-free extension for Red Bull

Red Bull is to launch Red Bull Sugar Free this month, the energy drink’s first variant in the UK.

The product will be on shelves in Sainsbury’s by the end of next week and key petrol forecourts by the end of January. Other supermarkets and grocery stores should receive stocks between February and March.

Red Bull says the product has been developed in response to feedback from consumers. Red Bull off-trade director Nigel Trood says: “Everyone has recognised the potential and there is strong consumer demand for this product.”

Red Bull Sugar Free contains sweeteners Aspartame and Acesulfam K instead of sugar. This means one 250ml can will now contain eight calories whereas standard Red Bull contains 112 calories.
