T&T Beverages has appointed start-up RudaizkyRyan for the &£4m relaunch of its carbonated soft drinks brand.

Manning Gottlieb OMD has been appointed to work on media planning and buying for the campaign.

Burkitt DDB previously handled advertising and media planning and buying for T&T Beverages, but managing director Dafer Alazri began talking to agencies informally late last year (MW October 24, 2002).

T&T Beverages, an independent drinks company, originally made its mark with a &£2m sponsorship deal for the first series of hit television show Popstars in 2001. It continued to up its profile by partnering Universal Pictures’ film Ali G Indahouse for an on-pack promotion (MW March 14, 2002).

However, it declined the option to sponsor Popstars: The Rivals last year and has been developing a new strategy. While keeping tight-lipped about the marketing plans, the company says the activity should begin next month and will feature television advertising.

The four T&T variants have been reformulated to ensure there is no added sugar and the packaging has been redesigned.

RudaizkyRyan is an integrated marketing agency that was set up by former Saatchi & Saatchi managing partner John Rudaizky and former Spectre director Matt Ryan in December last year.
