Some people are beyond help. The Diary is reminded of the old bingo call, “legs 11” since this feels like the 11th time this particular pair of pallid pins has pranced across the Diary page. They belong to Rob Gray (MW October 24, November 14, 2002), managing director of Mercier Gray, and this time they’re appearing in an ad for his company.

The Diary has three questions for Mr Gray. How did you get the camera in your mouth? Who’s your dentist (and how did he get your teeth so tartar-free)? And it’s nice to see your hair’s grown back since your first appearance, but are you sure you’re not a hobbit? Those feet just aren’t right…
