Pearl & Dean is setting up a charity appeal fund to mark its 50th anniversary and has created two cinema ads starring Ewan McGregor to encourage donations. The year-long appeal will be in support of Scottish charities the Children’s Hospice Association of Scotland (CHAS) and MediCinema, an organisation which installs cinemas in hospitals. The initiative will also include selling specially designed T-shirts modelled by pop star Sharleen Spiteri and a musical badge, which plays the famous Pearl & Dean Asteroid theme tune. Warner Village and UGC Cinemas will screen the ads, which have been made free of charge. McGregor wrote, directed and stars in the CHAS ad and provides the voiceover for the MediCinema appeal.
