Campbell Doyle Dye (CDD) has won the &£1m advertising account for Suffolk brewery Adnams.

CDD won the pitch against incumbent Fox Murphy, Partners BDDH and WFCA Integrated. Adnams began talking to London-based agencies in January. It is understood that the company wanted a larger agency to boost its national presence.

Adnams claims to be the fastest-growing beer brand in the UK and aims to be one of the top-ten ale brands within three years. Its brands include Suffolk Strong Bitter and Broadside.

Previous advertising by Adnams has emphasised its heritage and featured characters from its home region. The first ads by CDD are likely to appear in the second half of this year.

In November, Adnams repackaged its Broadside Original and Suffolk Strong Bitter to improve the beers’ shelf-visibility.

CDD’s clients include Merrydown, Sekonda watches and Mercedes. Its most recent win was the &£4m launch of McCain Vibes, a new hot crisp product, last August. In November, CDD did its first advertising work for Merrydown, after the brand’s ten-year absence from advertising. CDD is shortlisted for the Sky+ advertising business.
