IPC hands Red publisher ad group post

IPC Media has appointed the launch publisher of Red magazine, Anna O’Sullivan, as advertising director of its women’s lifestyle group of titles, which includes Mizz, 19, Practical Parenting and Wedding & Home.

Her appointment comes amid a wave of changes at IPC following the announcement of a new chief executive, Sylvia Auton. Auton was promoted from managing director of IPC’s Country & Leisure Media group last month following the departure of Sly Bailey. Bailey left last year to become chief executive of the Trinity Mirror group (MW December 12, 2002).

IPC has also promoted Southbank head of business development Claire Portis, who has been on maternity leave. On her return, Portis will take up her post as advertising business director, reporting to Southbank group ad director Clare Dove.

The Southbank group comprises IPC’s women’s monthlies, including Marie Claire and InStyle.

IPC has also promoted group marketing director Philippa Brown to managing director of IPC tx, the TV magazines division. She replaces Caroline Ward, who becomes managing director of IPC Connect, the women’s weeklies group (MW last week).
