FT’s appeal is somewhat weekend

The Financial Times is exuberant about its new Weekend FT, with revamped sections and a review of the week – but it has already annoyed at least one media buyer with its eagerness to show off the new product.

Paul Thomas of MindShare was away in the land of nod when his special-delivery FT arrived. “How nice,” you might think. “The paper was there waiting for him when he awoke.” However, as it arrived via a noisy motorbike courier – at 3am – the roar of the engine and the thud of his letterbox in the early hours left him seeing red, rather than pink, over his cornflakes the following morning.
