T-Birds to launch PG Tips’ new Freeflow pyramid bag

Animated characters the T-Birds, which replaced the iconic PG Tips chimpanzees, are returning to screens to launch the PG Tips’ new Freeflow pyramid bag. The tea bag is made from a material which PG Tips claims allows the tea to move around more freely, and thus release more flavour. The campaign, created by BMP DDB, sees the four feathered characters doing their daily chores in their flat to the rhythm of the song ‘The Beat Goes On’. A newsflash appears on their television set demonstrating how the new material works. The T-Birds are each given a cup of PG and they visibly brighten up as they drink it. The advertisement, which breaks on June 2, uses the strapline ‘New Freeflow bag, because we all need a PG moment’. Media planning and buying is handled by Initiative Media.
