Andy Law resurfaces at Springer
St Luke’s founding partner and chairman Andy Law and deputy chairman Kate Stanners, who were both ousted from the business in March following a dispute over the future of the agency, are poised to join Springer & Jacoby.
It is understood that Law, who is one of the most well-known characters in the advertising industry, will oversee plans to rebrand the agency.
Insiders claim the rebranding will attempt to create the feel of a totally new advertising agency, separate from the Springer & Jacoby network.
Insiders claim its sister agency The Reef, which only renamed last year, will also be rebranded.
Law’s move will surprise many in the industry, as in its formative years St Luke’s was one of the most talked about and controversial agencies. In contrast, Springer & Jacoby is one of the most lacklustre agencies in the UK. Since its London launch four years ago has failed to attract any significant UK business.
Law is believed to be joining the agency this week as chief executive. When Stanners joins in September – she is currently on maternity leave – she will become creative director.
Springer & Jacoby’s chairman Paul Slaymaker denies the two have joined the agency and adds: “We are in the middle of talking to them about a possible venture but there is no firm agreement.”
