Enterprise duo’s car trek pays off

In the old days, if you wanted to raise money for charity, you got sponsored to do something unpleasant. The Diary has long suppressed memories of being forced to trudge through muddy, cattle-sodden fields in shorts and singlet, in pursuit of that elusive “10p a lap” for some benevolent fund or other. But times have changed.

These days, it seems, one can get sponsored for anything: cycling in the Caribbean, parachuting, drinking in the pub… and driving flash cars round the Cotswolds. This is a photo of Dave Brown and Pete Hollingsworth from Enterprise IG, who took part in the Design Pursuit Challenge, to raise money for the Design for Good charity. The pair raised £1,500 by haring round the hills for a weekend. Who says progress is a bad thing?
