Standard Life hands DMP £1.5m DM task

Standard Life Healthcare, the private medical insurance provider, has appointed Bristol-based agency DMP to handle its £1.5m direct marketing account.

The agency beat Black Cat and Talisman in a three-way pitch to win the strategic planning and creative advertising business for Standard Life Healthcare.

DMP’s brief is to provide creative solutions across media and a campaign is expected to launched in September. The fully integrated campaign will involve direct mail, door-to-door and press advertising and inserts.

Standard Life Healthcare direct marketing manager Annaliese Jones says: “If the first wave of the campaign goes successfully then direct response TV and radio advertising is planned.”

The company’s last DRTV ads were created by Tri-Direct and ran in February 2002 and was its first DRTV campaign for two years.

DMP also handles below-the-line advertising for Barclaycard, Barclays Bank and Norwich Union. Its other clients include London Electricity, SWEB and Readers Digest.

Standard Life’s main rivals include Norwich Union Healthcare and PPP Healthcare.
