NTL picks central marketing boss

NTL has moved one of its regional managing directors into a central operational role that will include overseeing marketing.

Peter Wilcock, an NTL veteran and managing director for the North-east business unit region, has been brought in to the central team by Aizad Hussain, managing director for the company’s consumer division, NTL Home. Wilcock will be managing director of operations, giving guidance to each of the regions on best marketing practice.

An NTL spokeswoman says: “He was the star of the regional managing directors and has been given a central role to make sure that centrally we are implementing best practice and achieving our goals.”

NTL axed the central marketing director role, held by Jeremy Davies, in November last year following a restructure that devolved responsibility for marketing to each of the company’s six regional offices.

NTL earlier this year moved its £6.5m media planning and buying out of Carat and into WWAV Rapp Collins Media (MW April 17). Carat Interactive was to continue to work on NTL Home’s online advertising. The company also uses a variety of creative agencies across its different geographical regions.
