BSkyB reports first profit in five years

BSkyB reported its first annual pre-tax profit in five years on Tuesday – £260m in the year to June 30, on a turnover of £3.

BSkyB reported its first annual pre-tax profit in five years on Tuesday – &£260m in the year to June 30, on a turnover of &£3.19bn, itself up 15 per cent on last year. A year ago, the company made a loss of &£22m. It has also set a new subscriber target of 8 million by the end of 2005. BSkyB has 6.8 million subscribers and is on course to reach 7 million by the end of this year.
