Money can’t buy our love

“Today’s paper was brought to you by…” (MW August 21) was wrong in one important respect. MoneySupermarket.com does not accept money from providers to feature products as best buys. Best buys are just that: you can’t pay your way into a best-buy table. To have a viable business, it is important to us to have commercial relationships with as many companies in our best-buy lists as possible. But we (and our media partners) only get paid when a reader clicks through to the provider’s website or makes a purchase.

A comment attributed to me in indirect speech in your piece on editorial content and personal finance internet sites (MW August 21) may have given a misleading impression. Money.telegraph.co.uk guards its reputation for editorial objectivity jealously, and separates editorial from commercial coverage. We take money from suppliers of personal finance products only in commercial areas.
