Super Max picks ex-Remington chief for international position

Shaving products company Super Max has appointed former Remington marketing chief Richard Rietjens as head of its international marketing team.

Rietjens quit his position as European marketing director at Remington at the beginning of the year, after less than six months in the role (MW February 13).

Rietjens had been promoted from UK marketing director following a string of senior management departures at Remington, including former European marketing director Peta Thorniley and UK managing director Simon Russell.

As general manager for marketing at Super Max, Rietjens will be responsible for the international marketing and promotional budget for the UK-based company’s range of shaving products.

He will eventually be stationed in the company’s international offices in Dubai, although he is currently based in the UK.

The company makes the Super Max brand of disposable razors – including what it claims is the first three-blade disposable – as well as shaving foam and toiletries.

Rietjens says his experience in the shaving market will be of considerable use in his new position.

He adds that his role will be to build on the company’s already strong presence in Asian countries such as India, as well as develop its interests in unexploited areas such as Eastern Europe.
